Private first class is the rank just above private. There was little difference between the these ranks. Most of the soldiers in WWII had the rank private or private first class.

Description

Postcard written to his grandmother, Mrs. Anna Waid, 516 Avenue G, in Coronado, California.  Front has four uniformed soldiers and a brown and white dog in a row, eyes is every direction except forward, with the words “Greetings from the Army!”  Back has the words “How can an army rookie keep strict orders on his mind, when all the time he’s thinking of the folks he left behind?” Postmark is dated August 18, 1942.
